I know things have got really bad

when I hear myself asking the kids, "please don't just throw your dirty laundry on the floor...we'll get it confused with the clean clothes"

Honestly, we are so behind with putting away clothes. I can keep up with washing and drying them, but the folding and putting away or hanging up just builds up so much. We go through so many clothes between the 6 of it, it's crazy. Recently, the first place we look for new clothes is the overfilling totes in my room, rather than our drawers. I've got to tackle it at some point...

Getting ready to head out to an appointment and looking out socks. Lana found one pink one and needed a second sock. So presented a few to her and let her have her pick, which she was delighted with. "I'll have.....the yellow one" she said, excitedly.

Yes, I must do something about this.

I realize it was 25+ years ago, but when I was a kid we had to fold and put way our own clean clothes. Back then it was called "chores".

You should see our dining room table! Good thing we have a kitchen table. :) Glad to know I'm not the only one who can't keep up.

I can identify completely. Add to the normal mix a toddler who insists on taking a water sippy to bed every night and therefore soaks himself and all his sheets and blankets regularly... Well, you can just imagine!

Our house is the same way, lately. The biggest problem we have is that our bedrooms are all on our 2nd story and the washer/dryer are in the basement. So hauling them down two floors and back up two floors really takes some serious time. I've been wishing we could figure out how to at least put in a laundry shoot. Wish we knew how to do stuff like that!

You're not the only one with these problems. You should see my husbands method of putting close away. It consist of putting them in a pile on the bedroom floor and saying I'll put 'em away tomorrow. Okay, here we are almost a week later and where are the clothes? Yup, right where he left them. Guess I'm no better for not putting them away myself. Ugh...
